Norman P. (Norm) Iler, ’37, was captain and point guard for three of the most successful basketball teams in W&L history.

From 1935 to 1937, W&L posted a combined record of 46-16, including marks of 19-2 in 1936 and 17-4 in 1937.

Iler, who was named All-State and All-Southern Conference for three straight years, helped W&L to the Southern Conference title in 1937. He was later named to the Helms Foundation All-America team. Iler also was a three-year standout in baseball, helping W&L to a school-record 17 wins in 1935.
