LEXINGTON, Va. -- Guilford senior goalkeeper Veronica Zych (Champaign, Ill./University Lab School) posted 16 saves, including several from point-blank range in overtime, as the Quakers tied Washington and Lee, 0-0, in double overtime at Watt Field on Wednesday afternoon.
The 18th-ranked Generals outshot Guilford, 30-5, and held a 15-4 advantage on corner kicks, but could not slip the ball past Zych.
Sophomore Kiki Moreo (Westport, Conn./Staples) notched three saves between the posts as the W&L defense kept its opponent from scoring for the 10th-straight contest.
With the tie, the Generals move to 8-0-2 overall and 5-0-2 in the ODAC, while Guilford's record now stands at 7-4-1, 5-1-1 in the ODAC.
Washington and Lee returns to action on Sunday as it hosts Catholic for a 1:00 pm contest.
