LEXINGTON, Va. – The ninth-ranked Washington and Lee women's soccer team locked up the 2025 ODAC regular season title and No. 1 seed for the conference tournament with a 4-0 win over Randolph on Wednesday evening.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Senior Sarah Zimmerman put the Generals (13-2-1, 9-0-0 ODAC) up a goal in the 22nd minute. First-year Mary Parrish Green passed to her right to sophomore Maren Brown at the top of the 18, before Brown lobbed a short pass into the box for Zimmerman to finish the job.
- Brown then scored her third goal of the year in the 43rd minute for a 2-0 lead. Senior Bryn Bissinger sent a cross into the box that was headed away from goal. The ball came right to Brown, who fired it back inside the left post.
- Zimmerman scored once more in the 57th minute for a 3-0 lead. She found sophomore Elizabeth Zimmerman near the 18 and made a run towards the box. Elizabeth then gave it back to Sarah racing towards goal for a well-placed right-footed shot past the keeper.
- Junior Emily Burke capped the scoring in the 83rd minute on an assist from junior Abigail Watson. Watson took an initial shot that was blocked, but the rebound came right to Burke who put her shot just out of the outstretched reach of the keeper.
