LEXINGTON, Va. – Washington and Lee University Head Women's Tennis Coach Erin Ness has announced that assistant coach Tyler Linscott has accepted the Head Men's and Women's Tennis Coach position at Salisbury University.

"I want to thank Tyler for everything he did for us this past year," Ness commented. "His energy, positivity, and passion for the game will be missed. I wish him the best of luck and know he will do great things at Salisbury."

Linscott spent the 2024-25 season and the fall portion of the 2025-26 campaign on the Generals' coaching staff, helping the program win its 22nd straight and 34th overall ODAC championship last season and a 20-6 overall record. W&L made a run to the Round of 16 in last year's NCAA Tournament before bowing out against No. 2 Emory.

"I am so grateful for my time at Washington and Lee University," Linscott stated. "A huge thank you to Erin Ness for her support and for giving me this opportunity; it has been a privilege working alongside her. The best part of my experience has undoubtedly been coaching such an amazing group of student-athletes. I love this team and truly appreciate everything W&L has given me. I'll miss W&L, but I'm excited for what's ahead in the next chapter."

Linscott also helped his players to a myriad of individual success. Allie Murrell '28 made it to the semifinals of the ITA Southeast Region Championship Singles draw last fall, while she and classmate Mary Kate Kahl made an appearance in the regional doubles semifinal. Five players made the All-ODAC First Team for singles, led by Lauren Long '26, who won her third consecutive ODAC Player of the Year award. Long also was named an ITA Singles All-American and the ITA Atlantic South Region Player to Watch.

A national search for the next Assistant Women's Tennis Coach will begin immediately.
