Hanna Bishop Breaks Career Scoring Mark in Tuesday Night's Women's Lacrosse Action

LEXINGTON, Va. - The No. 9 Washington and Lee University women's lacrosse team picked up a pair of conference wins on Tuesday evening with a 19-7 win at Bridgewater College and posted a  21-2 win over Eastern Mennonite University in the nightcap contest.

The Generals (4-3, 3-0 ODAC) used goals from eight, and 14 different players to down the Eagles (3-3, 0-1) and Royals (1-2, 0-1), respectively.

Senior attacker Hanna Bishop, announced as the IWLCA DIII Co-Offensive Player of the Week on Tuesday afternoon, broke the W&L career scoring record tonight after entering the season with 165 tallies through three seasons. With five goals at Bridgewater, Bishop tied the record set by Kelly Taffe '04 with 182 career goals. Bishop then added a hat trick at EMU to claim sole possession of the top line of the record book.

The record-breaking goal came at the 10:13 mark in the first quarter. Bishop dodged through three EMU defenders from the left side of the crease to give the Blue and White a 4-0 lead.
