Baki, Tombaugh Headline Women’s Lacrosse All-America Honors

5/22/2026 2:00:00 PM

LEXINGTON, Va. — Washington and Lee women's lacrosse earned four national postseason honors this week, as sophomore attacker Lara Baki, sophomore defender Dagny Tombaugh, junior attacker Hannah Van Son and sophomore midfielder Kelly Polacek were recognized on the 2026 Division III All-America teams released by the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) and USA Lacrosse Magazine.

Baki highlighted the group after being named an IWLCA Division III Third Team All-American, becoming the Generals' lone selection by the organization and one of just 57 players nationally recognized across the IWLCA's three All-America teams. The sophomore led the team in goal scoring during the 2026 campaign, finishing with 50 goals and 60 total points while adding four game-winning goals and an .770 shots-on-goal percentage.

Tombaugh garnered USA Lacrosse Magazine Third Team All-America laurels, her first national honor of her career, following a breakout sophomore season that helped anchor one of the ODAC's top defensive units that limited opponents to just 7.10 goals per game. She finished the year with 46 ground balls and 27 caused turnovers after transitioning into a starting defender role, registering starts and significant minutes in all 20 contests this spring.

Van Son and Polacek each received USA Lacrosse Magazine Honorable Mention All-America recognition after leading a balanced and efficient W&L attack. Van Son totaled 45 goals, nine assists and 43 draw controls, while Polacek paced the Generals with 63 points on 30 goals and 33 assists.

The quartet helped guide Washington and Lee to a 15-5 overall record and an undefeated 8-0 ODAC regular season, as the Generals totaled 273 goals, 259 draw controls and 196 caused turnovers during the year.

The IWLCA honored 57 Division III student-athletes across its 2026 All-America teams, you can read the full IWLCA release here.  The USA Lacrosse Magazine staff recognized 89 individuals in their DIII USA Lacrosse All-America release.
