d'Entremont takes over late; Generals move past EMU, 84-73

HOW IT HAPPENED:
The Royals (2-5, 0-2 ODAC) were hot out of the gates, hitting a pair of three's in the first minute of play, but the W&L defense settled in and the offense took off soon after. d'Entremont then sank a layup to spark an overall 27-7 run that spanned nine minutes, which left the Generals (5-1, 1-1 ODAC) ahead, 27-13, with 9:29 left in the first half. At one point, W&L scored 11 straight points, five of which came from first-year Parker Neuenhaus.

Eastern Mennonite broke the streak with seven straight points, and slowly worked their way back towards evening the score. Over the final nine minutes of the first half, the Royals outscored the Generals, 27-15, to trail by only two points at halftime. That run featured the 7-0 run at the start plus another 8-0 stretch during.

The Royals kept their strong play going to begin the second half with a 13-4 run to open things up, pulling ahead by a 53-46 margin with 17:22 left. W&L responded quickly with a 19-5 run of its own to regain a 65-58 lead with under six and a half minutes to play. That's when d'Entremont took over with his final 12 points of the game, while the Royals scored 15 as a team, to help the Generals fend off the Royals for the 11-point win.
