Women's Soccer earns United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The United Soccer Coaches announced its 2020-21 Team Academic Award recipients and the Washington and Lee women's soccer team was among the honorees.
 
This marks the 18th consecutive season that the W&L women's soccer team has claimed this award, after posting a team grade-point average of 3.62 during the 2020-21 academic year.
 
College Team Academic Award recipients are active members of the United Soccer Coaches College Services Program with a composite grade point average of 3.0 or better on a 4.0 scale for all players on the roster for the 2020-21 academic year. In total, 602 college teams received recognition, including 220 men's teams and 382 women's teams. Additionally, 90 schools had both their men's and women's programs recognized, W&L being one of those schools.
 
The Generals posted a 10-0-1 overall record during abbreviated 2020-21 season, with an appearance in the ODAC Championship game. W&L is 5-1 overall this season, and won its first five games to post a 16-game unbeaten streak across the last two seasons, tied for the fourth-longest span without a loss in program history.
