BALTIMORE, Md. — Junior
Ethan Bernstein (Bethlehem, Pa./Saucon Valley) broke the Washington and Lee men's track and field 1,500m record on Tuesday to lead a handful of W&L runners at the Hopkins Charm City Invitational.
Highlights From the Meet
- Bernstein finished fourth in the race with a time of 3:52.60. It broke the previous record of 3:53.60 set by W&L Hall of Famer Angus McBryde '84 38 years ago in 1983. Bernstein's time is currently the 14th-best in Division III.
- First-year Jake Symonds (Emerald Hills, Calif./Crystal Springs Uplands) took 12th in the event with a personal-best time of 4:06.44.
- In the 5,000m, first-year Hayden Roberts (Lutherville, Md./Loyola Blakefield) claimed eighth in 15:06.43, and first-year Chris Ruiz (Highland Lakes, N.J./Vernon Township) placed ninth in the 800m (1:58.40).
