Men’s Track and Field Posts Pair of Top Finishes on Day One of Bast-Cregger

SALEM, Va. - The Washington and Lee University men's track and field team secured a pair of first place finishes on the first day of the Bast-Cregger Invitational on Friday. 

HIGHLIGHTS FROM THE MEET

  • Macky Gartley kicked off the meet with in the 60m hurdles, securing his spot in tomorrow's finals as he clocked the fastest-time in the field. Gartley crossed the finish line in 8.22s and will race tomorrow afternoon at 12:43 p.m.
  • The Generals distance crew posted the top three times in the 5,000m with William Dunaway clocking in a personal best time. Dunaway crossed the finish line 15:02.52 to finish in first. Jackson Kodenski and Thomas Franklin finished right behind him in second and third with times of 15:27.91 and 15:30.85. Colin Verrett rounded out the crew with an eighth place finish, clocking in a time of 15:55.98.
  • Evan Langhammer and Lukas Michael finished up the first day in the pole vault this evening. Langhammer finished in first place after he cleared a height of 4.50m (14'-09.00"). Michael posted a season-best height of 4.05m (13'-03.50") to finish in eighth place.
