PITTSBURGH – The No. 16 Washington and Lee women's swimming team lost, 163-99, to No. 10 Carnegie Mellon in a Saturday dual meet.
Highlights from the meet:
-The Generals won five events on the day, had 15 top-three finishes and had seven different swimmers combine for 13 of the top-three performances.
-W&L was led by sophomore
Caroline Baber (Richmond, Va. / Collegiate School) and senior
Emily Hageboeck (Charleston, W.Va. / George Washington), who both won two individual races. Baber claimed the top spot in the 50 free (24.98) and the 200 IM (2:10.96), and added a second-place finish in the 200 free (1:59.78). Hageboeck won the 100 (1:06.55) and 200 breast (2:22.90), and added a third-place showing in the 200 individual medley (2:11.48).

Ali MacQueen (Memphis, Tenn. / St. Mary's Episcopal School) also had a strong meet, winning the 100 fly (57.76) and placing second in both in the 200 fly (2:08.32) and the 100 free (54.18). MacQueen and Baber also swam first and second, respectively, on the second-place 200 free relay (1:39.63).
