ASHLAND, Va. -- The top-seeded and 13th-ranked Washington and Lee women's tennis team cruised to a 5-0 decision over fourth-seeded Bridgewater in the ODAC Tournament Semifinals on Saturday at Randolph-Macon.
W&L dropped just four games in the doubles competiton in posting an early 3-0 lead. The Generals then claimed the victory when juniors Michelle Fleenor (Chattanooga, Tenn. / Girls Preparatory School) and Emily Kochard (Crozet, Va. / Western Albemarle) won their singles matches in straight sets at No. 3 and No. 5 singles, respectively.
With the win, W&L improved to 19-5 on the season. Bridgewater ends its campaign with a 10-7 mark.
The Generals advance to Sunday's ODAC title match against the winner of a semifinal match between second-seeded Randolph-Macon and third-seeded Randolph. The championship is slated to begin at 1:00 pm.
