No. 16 W&L Women's Tennis Defeats No. 32 Christopher Newport, 8-1

LEXINGTON, Va. – The 16th-ranked Washington and Lee women's tennis team posted an 8-1 triumph over 32nd-ranked Christopher Newport on Saturday afternoon at the Duchossois Tennis Center.

W&L swept all three doubles matches to take a 3-0 lead into singles action, where it went on to claim five of the singles matches to reach the final margin of 8-1.

The Generals improve to 5-0 overall with the win, while the Captains fall to 1-2 overall with the loss.

W&L returns to the courts on Saturday when it hosts to Emory & Henry for a 2:00 pm contest.
