Box Score LEXINGTON, Va. – Sophomore midfielder Olivia Sisson (Great Falls, Va. / Langley) netted a career-high eight goals in a 21-1 victory for the 11th-ranked Washington and Lee women's lacrosse team over Randolph on Saturday afternoon at Watt Field.
Sisson's eight goals tied for the third-most in program history. The last player to tally eight goals in a single contest was Emmy Mathews '11 in 2011.
Sisson scored five of her eight goals in the first half as the Generals (12-2, 9-0) took a 12-1 lead into intermission.
Sophomore midfielder Hollis Tardy (Dallas, Texas / The Hockaday School) and sophomore attacker Lauren Procaccino (Manhasset, N.Y. / Manhasset) both scored two goals each in the opening half to supplement Sisson's scoring outburst.
Junior midfielder Taylor Riccardi (Lexington, Va. / Rockbridge County) notched the lone goal for the WildCats (3-12, 1-9) at the 14:19 mark.
The Blue and White continued to control play in the second half, scoring eight tallies while holding the WildCats scoreless. Procaccino opened up the second half with two goals, while Sisson added three more scores in the final 30 minutes as the Generals cruised to the win.
For the game, W&L held the advantage in shots (38-9) and draw controls (20-4). The Generals also held a 10-7 advantage in ground balls.
Sisson added four draw controls to her eight goals. Procaccino scored four goals and dished out two assists, while Tardy and sophomore midfielder Maggie Waxter (Baltimore, Md./Roland Park) finished with two goals each. Junior attacker Melissa Coggins (St. John's, Fla./Bartram Trail) added five assists.
Senior goalkeeper Cara Mulligan (Glen Ridge, N.J. / Glen Ridge) and first-year goalie Harleigh Bean (Upper Marlboro, Md. / Episcopal) split time in net for the Blue and White, combining for five saves. Senior keeper Samantha Fagone (Bay Shore, N.Y. / Bay Shore) saw all 60 minutes of action in goal for Randolph, totaling nine saves.
W&L returns to the field on Wednesday when it hosts Bridgewater for the final contest of the regular season. The game is set for a 5:00 pm start.
