FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – The Washington and Lee women's soccer game against Methodist scheduled for Sunday at Monarch Soccer Facilities has been cancelled.

Originally, the game was scheduled for a 3:00 pm start. It was pushed back an hour to 4:00 pm, but due to the projected forecast of thunderstorms expected to come through the Fayetteville area this afternoon, both teams agreed the game would not be played. The contest will not be made up later in the season. 

The Generals most recently defeated Greensboro on Saturday, 7-0, to improve to 2-0-1 this season. First-year forward Chandler Wickers (Portola Valley, Calif. / Menlo School) leads the team with seven points on three goals and one assist. Junior goalkeeper Addie Healy (Waterford, Va. / Woodgrove) has accumulated a save percentage of .778 and a goals against average of 0.65 in the three games played.

W&L returns to action on Saturday when it hosts Eastern Mennonite for the first ODAC contest of the season. The match is set to start at 1:00 pm.
