LEXINGTON, Va.—The ninth-ranked Washington and Lee women's lacrosse team started the second half with seven-straight goals in claiming a 13-6 victory over Christopher Newport in the home-opener on Sunday afternoon at Watt Field.

The Generals led 5-2 at the half before junior attacker Katie Flippen (Norfolk, Va./Norfolk Academy) began the second period barrage with an unassisted goal just 1:15 after intermission. The Captains (2-2) rallied with four-straight goals including a pair from freshman attacker Kaitlin Quigley (Round Hill, Va./Loudoun Valley) to make it a 12-6 game with 1:19 remaining in the contest, but could get no closer as the Generals improved to 3-0 on the season.
