LEXINGTON, Va. – The Washington and Lee baseball team improved to 12-3 overall with a 17-5 win over Penn State-Harrisburg on Tuesday afternoon at Cap'n Dick Smith Field.
The Generals took an early 3-0 lead aided by sophomore catcher Will Lewis' (Columbia, S.C./A.C. Flora) sacrifice fly and an RBI on a fielder's choice from freshman leftfielder Anthony Cardona (Lower Gwynedd, Pa./Chestnut Hill) in the first and an RBI ground out by sophomore shortstop John Ditore (Shoreline, Wash./Bishop Blanchet) in the second. The Lions (2-4) found their way onto the scoreboard in the top of the sixth, cutting the W&L lead to 3-1, off an RBI triple from junior leftfielder Derron Pellman (New Cumberland, Pa./Cedar Cliff). However, the Generals' bats came alive in the ensuing frames as they plated five runs in the seventh and nine runs in the eighth to secure the 17-5 final margin.

Junior centerfielder Terrence McKelvey (East Islip, N.Y./East Islip) hit 2-for-4 with a triple, while Lewis was 1-for-2 with three RBI. Ditore added four RBI and had one hit in five at-bats.
