Four Generals Named to All-ODAC Baseball Teams

FOREST, Va. - Four Members of the Washington and Lee University baseball team were named to the 2026 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) All-Conference teams, the league announced on Thursday afternoon.

First-year Alex Caywood and junior Nathan DeWitte earned First Team honors while junior Cooper Charneco and sophomore Camdyn Teague were selected to the Third Team. This marks the second-most selections in program history, tying the 2023 squad.

Caywood earned the first All-Conference nod of his career after a breakout rookie season, becoming the second first-year in program history to earn First Team All-Conference honors. He recorded a team-best .425 batting average with a 1.195 OPS in 127 plate appearances while playing in all 36 games. He registered 54 hits, 19 doubles, two triples, and a home run while driving in 34 runs and drawing 30 walks, the second-most in program history. The Chantilly, Va., native ranked ninth in Division III in doubles and 10th in on-base percentage (.565). He also ranked in the top 20 in the league in multiple categories while tying for the league lead in doubles with 19. He ranked second in batting average and on-base percentage, third in OPS, sixth in runs scored (51), 14th in walks (30), and 18th in hits. Caywood registered a team-high 20-game hitting streak while reaching base in every game this season.


DeWitte picked up his second-straight All-ODAC citation after being selected to the Third Team in 2025. This season, DeWitte had a career year at the plate and on the mound for the Blue and White. He ranked second on the team with a .385 batting average and a .965 OPS with a team-high 55 hits. DeWitte registered six doubles, two triples, and two home runs while driving in 25 runs and drawing 24 walks. He ranked ninth in the ODAC in runs scored (50), 13th in batting average, and 15th in hits. On the mound, DeWitte made 15 appearances, including five starts, pitching 38.2 innings while striking out a career-high 31 batters.


Charneco was selected to his first All-Conference team as he earned Third Team honors. He was the Generals' ace this season, earning starts on Saturday afternoons as the No. 1. Charneco started 11 games on the bump this season, posting a 4-4 record in 62.1 innings pitched. He struck out a career-high 61 batters this season while pitching to a 4.04 ERA with a 1.32 WHIP. The Clifton, Va., native pitched six or more innings in five starts this season while striking out five or more batters in seven starts, including a career-high nine punchouts against Greensboro and Randolph-Macon.


Teague rounds out the All-ODAC selections, earning Third Team honors for the first time in his career. The Hoover, Ala., native started 31 games in the outfield this season, ranking third on the team with a .364 batting average and a .901 OPS. He registered 47 hits with 10 doubles and two triples while driving in 32 runs, the third most on the team, and drawing 12 walks. He registered 17 multi-hit games this season while reaching base in 13 straight games. Teague also recorded a pair of four-hit games this season while driving in five runs twice, against Roanoke and Southern Virginia.


The Generals finished their 2026 campaign with a 21-14-1 overall record with a 10-9-1 record in conference play. They reached the ODAC Tournament for the third time in the last four seasons while posting the most wins since 2017.
