GREENSBORO, N.C. – Sophomore attacker Kelsi Robinson (West Chester, Pa./Westtown) racked up two goals and four assists as 15th-ranked Washington and Lee downed Guilford, 18-3, in ODAC women's lacrosse action on Saturday afternoon in Greensboro, N.C.
The Generals (9-3, 5-0) jumped out to an 8-0 first-half lead on the strength of two goals from Robinson and another pair from senior midfielder Mallory Lobisser (Bainbridge Island, Wash./Lakeside). Guilford (7-8, 4-4) scored two of the first three goals in the second half, but W&L responded with nine-straight goals to cruise to the 18-3 final margin.
Robinson's performance was complimented by junior attacker Laura Henson (Atlanta, Ga./Westminster), who amassed three goals. Senior midfielder Kelly Evans (Lexington, Va./Rockbridge County) posted one goal and two assists, while sophomore attacker Katie Flippen (Norfolk, Va./Norfolk Academy) recorded two goals and one assist. Lobisser and senior midfielder Maggie Megear (Cold Spring Harbor, N.Y./Cold Spring Harbor) each added two scores, while senior attacker Avery Lovejoy (Old Greenwich, Conn./Greenwich) and freshman attacker Britten Mathews (Richmond, Va./Collegiate) registered one goal and one helper apiece. Junior Sarah Tilbor (West Simsbury, Conn./Simsbury) and sophomore Ali Hillyard (Media, Pa./Episcopal) split the contest in between the pipes. Tilbor tallied four saves, while Hillyard posted six stops.
Ellie Merrit, Allison Brown and Jennifer Abelin each notched a goal for Guilford, while Jessica Bolton and Alyzza-May Callahan each played a half in goal and combine to make three saves.
The Generals return to action on Wednesday when they host Hollins at 4:30 pm.
