WASHINGTON, D.C. – Catholic midfielder Kate Robinson scored the game-winning goal with just 31 second remaining in the second overtime period as the Cardinals defeated 11th-ranked Washington and Lee, 11-10, in women's lacrosse action on Saturday afternoon in Washington, D.C.
The Cardinals (7-3) took a 7-4 first-half lead on the strength of two goals by Robinson, but the Generals responded, scoring three of the first four goals in the second half to cut CUA's advantage to 8-7 with 16:12 remaining. Catholic midfielder Katie Bitonti upped the lead to 9-7 as she made good on a free position shot at the 12:32 mark, however, W&L responded with two goals to tie the contest with 10:56 to play.
