W&L Women's Lacrosse Defeats Lynchburg, 21-7

LEXINGTON, Va. – Senior attacker Kate Lester (Wilmington, Del./Friends) tied her career high with five goals and freshman attacker Kelsi Robinson (West Chester, Pa./Westtown) scored a career-high four goals with one assist to help lead the 12th-ranked Washington and Lee women's lacrosse team to a 21-7 victory over Lynchburg in ODAC action on Wednesday afternoon at Watt Field.

The Generals (10-3, 6-0) jumped out to a 2-0 lead with 4:49 gone-by on a pair of goals by Lester with the first tally coming off an assist from senior attacker Amanda Strickler (Lexington, Va./Rockbridge County). The Hornets (6-4, 4-3) cut the deficit to 2-1 at the 5:31 mark on an unassisted goal by sophomore attacker Nichole Locher (Yorktown Heights, N.Y./Yorktown), but Lester notched an unassisted tally just 48 seconds later to start a run of nine consecutive goals to give W&L an 11-1 lead with 8:01 remaining in the first half. Sophomore midfielder Megan Slosson (Cockeysville, Md./Maryvale Prep) and sophomore attacker Christine Bender (Moorestown, N.J./Moorestown) each scored two goals during the spurt.

However, Slosson scored her third goal of the game just 1:08 later to spark a six-goal spurt that gave the Generals an 18-5 lead en route to the 14-goal victory.
