GREENSBORO, N.C. -- The 18th-ranked Washington and Lee women's soccer team notched its 14th-straight shutout and improved to 12-0-2 with a 2-0 victory over Greensboro on Sunday afternoon.
The match remained score until the 46th minute of play when junior forward Martha Caulkins (Lynchburg, Va./E.C. Glass) registered the game-winner on an unassisted tally. W&L added another score at 71:18 when sophomore forward Anne Van Devender (Jackson, Miss./Choate Rosemary Hall) found the back of the net off an assist from sophomore forward Erica Giordano (Cranford, N.J./Mount Saint Mary Academy).
Sophomore goalkeeper Kiki Moreo (Westport, Conn./Staples) made one save, while Kristen McGuire and Shana Saganich combined to stop seven would-be goals for Greensboro (4-8-1).
The Generals, who have not conceded a goal in 2006, will attempt to continue their unbeaten streak on Wednesday when they face ODAC-foe Lynchburg at 4:00 pm at the Faculty Drive Fields.
