LEXINGTON, Va. -- The 16th-ranked Washington and Lee women's lacrosse team had 12 different players find the net in producing an 18-0 win over Bridgewater College on Tuesday afternoon at Watt Field.
The Generals (7-1, 3-0 ODAC) raced out to a 5-0 lead in the opening 8:05 of the game on the strength of three goals and one assist by sophomore attacker Kelly Evans (Lexington, Va./Rockbridge County) and one goal and three assists by junior attacker Amanda Strickler (Lexington, Va./Rockbridge County). W&L would go on to score eight more goals before halftime en route to the conference victory.
Evans and Strickler exited the game following their game-opening run and finished with four goals and four assists between them. Sophomore midfielder Mallory Lobisser (Bainbridge Island, Wash./Lakeside) notched three goals, while junior defender Louisa Feve (Bethesda, Md./Winston Churchill) had two goals and one assist. Freshman attacker Christine Bender (Moorestown, N.J./Moorestown) added one goal and two assists. Freshman Sarah Tilbor (West Simsbury, Conn./Simsbury) and sophomore Lindsay Lecky (Summit, N.J./Summit) each played 30 minutes in goal, with Lecky recording one save.
Bridgewater (1-6, 0-2 ODAC) was led by freshman defender Sarah Wade (Fairfield, Va./Stuarts Draft), who collected a game-high six ground balls and forced two turnovers. Freshmen Charlotte Beach (Frederick, Md./Governor Thomas Johnson) and Jennifer Midgett (Succasunna, N.J./Roxbury) each played 30 minutes in goal, combining to post seven saves.
Washington and Lee returns to action on Wednesday as it hosts 12th-ranked Williams for a 4:00 pm contest.
