LEXINGTON, Va. -- Sophomore forward Anne Wiltshire (Richmond, Va./Collegiate) scored a goal and added an assist to help lead the Washington and Lee women's soccer team to a 3-0 victory over Greensboro College on Sunday afternoon at Watt Field.
Wiltshire gave the Generals (3-0-2) a 1-0 lead at the 39:56 mark when she received a pass from sophomore defender Huntley Rodes (Nashville, Tenn./Harpeth Hall) and fired it into the back of the Greensboro net.
The W&L lead stood at 1-0 until six minutes into the second half when sophomore midfielder Rebecca Cohn (Virginia Beach, Va./Norfolk Academy) scored an unassisted goal. Less than nine minutes later, W&L ended the scoring when Wiltshire set up sophomore forward Sarah Helms (Charlotte, N.C./Myers Park), who scored her first goal of the year.
The Pride (1-4-1) was outshot 17-6 and had a 6-2 disadvantage in corner kicks.
W&L senior goalkeeper Emily Barker (Clifton, Va./Mount Vernon) made three saves to secure her fourth shutout of the season. Greensboro goalkeepers, junior Keri Wells (Greensboro, N.C./Eastern Guilford) and sophomore Kristin McGuire (Sewell, N.J./Washington Township) combined to stop six shots.
