LEXINGTON, Va. -- The Washington and Lee baseball team moved its school-record winning streak to 10 games with a 4-2 win over Bridgewater on Wednesday afternoon at Cap'n Dick Smith Field.

The Generals (12-2, 6-1) scored all four runs in the first inning as senior shortstop Michael Hanson (Atlanta, Ga./Pace Academy) led off with a triple to right field. Junior second baseman Austin Allain (Weston, Mass./Weston) scored Hanson on a double to left center and advanced to third on a single to center by senior first baseman Brian Gladysz (Pam Harbor, Fla./Berkeley Prep). After a walk to senior centerfielder Bobby Littlehale (Villa Park, Ill./Willowbrook), junior rightfielder Bryan Mulhern (Chadds Ford, Pa./Uniontown) laced a two-run double to left-center. Littlehale then scored on a single by sophomore catcher Zach Bausch (Vienna, Va./McLean) to left field.

Junior righthander Mike Wert (Pittsburgh, Pa./North Allegheny) held the Eagles scoreless until they pushed across an unearned run in the fourth inning. The Eagles (9-8, 4-1) scored their other run off of Wert in the fifth inning as senior pitcher Todd Lewis (Winchester, Va./John Handley) laced an RBI double off of the rightfield wall.

Wert threw five innings of seven-hit ball to improve to 3-0 on the season. Junior lefthander Peter Dean (Vienna, Va./James Madison) tossed three scoreless innings, while Mulhern pitched a 1-2-3 ninth inning for his second save of the season. At the plate, Hanson led the way with two hits in four at-bats.
