W&L Women's Soccer Defeats Greensboro, 2-0

GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Freshman forward Anne Wiltshire (Richmond, Va./Collegiate) scored her second game-winner in as many games as the 22nd-ranked Washington and Lee women's soccer team defeated Greensboro College, 2-0, on Saturday afternoon.

Wiltshire scored at 21:56 off an assist from junior defender Kelley Zagol (Berwyn, Pa./Conestoga) to give the Generals (8-0-1) the only goal they would need on the day. Senior forward Fontaine Marcoux (Washington, D.C./Potomac) scored on a header at 76:00 to set the final score at 2-0. Freshman midfielder Blair Haws (Fort Worth, Texas/Trinity Valley) recorded an assist on Marcoux's goal.

Junior Emily Barker (Clifton, Va./Mount Vernon) made 1 save in the W&L net, while junior Keri Wells made two saves for Greensboro (6-2-2).

The Pride held a 7-5 advantage in shots and a 4-0 advantage in corner kicks.

The Generals return to action on Wed., Oct. 8 at Randolph-Macon. Game time is 4:00 p.m.
