W&L Baseball Defeats Roanoke, 25-3

SALEM, Va. -- The Washington and Lee baseball team improved to 14-11-1 overall with a 25-3 victory at Roanoke on Tuesday evening.

Sophomore pitcher Bryan Mulhern (Chadds Ford, Pa./Unionville) went 3-for-4 with five runs batted in and three runs scored. In addition, Mulhern picked up the victory as he pitched four innings, allowing three runs on seven hits. He struck out one and walked one.

In addition to Mulhern's offense, junior first baseman Brian Gladysz (Palm Harbor, Fla./Berkeley Prep) finished 4-for-5 at the plate with five RBI and four runs scored, while junior centerfielder Bobby Littlehale (Villa Park, Ill./Willowbrook) was 3-for-5 with four runs scored and three runs batted in. Senior rightfielder Todd Gosselink (Austin, Texas/St. Stephens) was 3-for-3 with three RBI and one run scored.

Junior shortstop Michael Hanson (Atlanta, Ga./Pace Academy) finished the game 3-for-6 and scored four runs. With his four runs scored, Hanson now owns the W&L single season (37) and career runs (96) records.

Roanoke (0-11) was led by rightfielder Josh Ringstaff who went 2-for-4 and drove in two runs.

The Generals return to action when they host UVa-Wise on Wednesday afternoon at 3:00 pm.
