W&L Defeats Guilford in the ODAC Quarterfinals, 19-3

LEXINGTON, Va. -- Sophomore attacker Leslie Bogart (Wilton, Conn./Wilton) and freshman midfielder Lee Wheeler (Baltimore, Md./Bryn Mawr) netted four goals each to lead top-seeded Washington and Lee to a 19-3 victory over eighth-seeded Guilford in the quarterfinals of the ODAC Women's Lacrosse Tournament on Wednesday afternoon at the Liberty Hall Fields. With the win, the Generals (13-2) will host the semifinal (Saturday) and final (Sunday) rounds in Lexington.

W&L raced out to a 7-0 lead in the game's first 13:22 with two goals from Wheeler and senior attacker Liz Borges (Winchester, Mass./Winchester). Bogart then scored three goals in the final 11:42 of the first half to give W&L a 13-0 halftime edge.

Washington and Lee, ranked No. 16 in Division III, scored five straight goals to start the second stanza to increase its lead to 17-0. Guilford junior attacker Keli Donnelly (Lafayette Hill, Pa./Plymouth-Whitemarsh) got the Quakers (3-13) on the board with a goal at the 10:53 mark. Donnelly finished the day with two scores.

Bogart added two assists on the day, while Wheeler dished out one helper. Borges also netted three goals and added three assists.

The Generals will now host Roanoke College, who defeated Va. Wesleyan by a score of 12-7 on Wednesday, in the first semifinal on Saturday at 12:30 pm.
