W&L Baseball Breaks School Record For Wins In A Season

SWARTHMORE, Pa. -- Washington and Lee broke the school record for wins in a season with a 20-1 victory over Swarthmore in baseball action on Thursday afternoon in Swarthmore, Pa. The Generals now stand at 22-7 overall.

Senior designated hitter Jason May (Houston, Texas/St. John's) led the way for the Generals by going 2-for-3 with six RBI and two runs scored. Sophomore first baseman Brian Gladysz (Palm Harbor, Fla./Palm Harbor) [Pictured to right] picked up three hits in four plate appearances and scored four runs.

The Generals racked up 16 hits on the day while limiting the Garnet Tide to just five. Swarthmore pitchers also walked 16 W&L batters.

The Generals now return home for a crucial ODAC doubleheader against Lynchburg College on Saturday afternoon at Smith Field. Lynchburg is currently in fourth place, one game ahead of W&L in the ODAC standings.
