Baseball Defeats Emory & Henry In The ODAC Tournament, 9-6

LYNCHBURG, Va. -- Senior pitcher Bob Weston (Columbia, S.C./Woodberry Forest) pitched six innings of three-hit ball to help lead W&L to a 9-6 win over Emory & Henry in the ODAC Baseball Tournament at Lynchburg City Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

The win tied the W&L record for wins in a season (19-11) set by the 1912 squad. Weston also tied the W&L record for wins in a season by a pitcher (8). He is tied with sophomore David Sigler and W&L Hall of Famer Emerson Dickman, who set the mark in 1935 .

The Generals began the scoring with three runs in the first inning and would never trail again. Senior E.J. Murphy (Glenside, Pa./Chestnut Hill Academy) led the Generals' offensive attack, going 3-for-4 with two RBI. Sophomore pitcher Will Olgilve (Hous ton, Texas/Memorial) pitched three innings in relief to earn his first save of the season.

Emory & Henry ended its season with a record of 15-20.
