Haddad Named ODAC Defensive Player of the Year; 10 Generals Earn All-Conference Women's Lacrosse Honors

LEXINGTON, Va. — Washington and Lee placed 10 student-athletes on the 2026 All-Old Dominion Athletic Conference Women's Lacrosse Teams, and senior goalkeeper Iman Haddad was named the ODAC Defensive Player of the Year, as announced by the league office.

The Generals, who finished the season 15-4 overall and a perfect 8-0 in ODAC play, earned six First Team selections and four Second Team honorees, highlighting one of the conference's most complete teams.

Haddad becomes W&L's top individual award winner after anchoring a defense that allowed just 7.05 goals per game. She posted a 15-4 record with a 7.88 goals-against average and 126 saves, serving as the backbone of a unit that limited opponents to 134 goals across 19 games.

Joining Haddad on the All-ODAC First Team were Lara Baki (So., A), Hannah Van Son (Jr., A), Betty Boatwright (Sr., M), Emma Marsh (Sr., M) and Dagny Tombaugh (So., D). Baki and Van Son led the attack, combining for 91 goals and 108 points, while Marsh and Boatwright controlled possession with a combined 81 draw controls. Tombaugh paced the defense with 45 ground balls and 25 caused turnovers.

On the All-ODAC Second Team, Kelly Polacek (So., A), Carleigh Taylor (So., Draw Specialist), Taylor Bainbridge (Fy., D) and Hannah Russell (So., D) were recognized. Polacek led the team with 63 points (30 goals, 33 assists), while Taylor contributed 39 draw controls. Bainbridge and Russell combined for 52 ground balls and 31 caused turnovers, reinforcing W&L's defensive depth.

As a team, Washington and Lee outscored opponents 266-134 and controlled possession with advantages in draw controls (251-181) and caused turnovers (188-147).

Roanoke's Maddie McDonald was named the ODAC Offensive Player of the Year and ODAC/VAFB Scholar-Athlete of the Year, Randolph-Macon's MK Geratwoski earned Coach of the Year, and Shenandoah's Natalie Opatovsky was named Rookie of the Year.

Washington and Lee continues its season in the NCAA Tournament as a first-weekend host. First-round action begins on Saturday, May 9, with Christopher Newport facing Meredith (17-4) at 1 p.m. The winner advances to Sunday's second round to face No. 11 W&L at 1 p.m., with a berth in the NCAA Third Round on the line. All games will be played at Alston Parker Watt Field, with the weekend winner advancing to the NCAA Third Round on May 16.
