Women's Lacrosse is Set to Host First Weekend

INDIANAPOLIS — Washington and Lee University has been selected as a host site for the First and Second Rounds of the 2026 NCAA Division III Women's Lacrosse Championship and will welcome No. 22 Christopher Newport and Meredith College to Alston Parker Watt Field.

First-round action is set for Saturday, May 9, as Christopher Newport faces Meredith College (17-4) at 1 p.m. The winner will advance to Sunday's second round to face host No. 11 Washington and Lee at 1 p.m., with a berth in the NCAA Third Round on the line.

PATH TO THE NCAA TOURNAMENT

Christopher Newport (13-6) earned an at-large selection into the NCAA field, marking the program's 11th all-time appearance and third in the last four seasons. The Captains enter the weekend battle-tested, having faced nine NCAA Tournament teams this season and advancing to at least the second round in each of the last two tournaments.

Meredith and Christopher Newport will play at 1 p.m. ET on Watt Field.

Meredith (17-4) claimed the USA South Conference's automatic bid following a dominant 21-2 victory over Piedmont in the championship game, including a 12-0 second-half run. The Avenging Angels secured their 12th consecutive tournament title and bring one of the most impressive championship streaks in Division III into the NCAA Tournament.

On Sunday, May 11 and a 3 4 p.m. ET start time predicted, The 11th-ranked Generals will take on the winner of the Meredith and Christopher Newport matchup.

The No. 11 Generals (15-4) enter the postseason after capturing their 16th consecutive Old Dominion Athletic Conference Championship and 26th overall, securing the league's automatic bid. Washington and Lee will look to build on a strong defensive performance that held Randolph-Macon to six goals in the ODAC title game.

All games will be played at Alston Parker Watt Field, with the weekend winner advancing to the NCAA Third Round on May 16.
