GREENWOOD, Ind. – The 2025-26 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Women's Tennis Academic All-District Team was announced on Tuesday, and Washington and Lee seniors
Lauren Long and
Grace Lorenz received recognition.
Long has shined on the court once again this season with a 14-3 overall record in singles and 11-5 mark in doubles play. Playing all her matches from No. 1 singles, Long has won five matches in a row and eight of her last nine heading into the national team quarterfinals. She was also announced as a participant in the NCAA Division III Singles Championship for a fourth straight season.
Off the court, Long has been equally successful as a biochemistry major and entrepreneurship minor. She was named the ODAC/Virginia Farm Bureau Insurance Scholar Athlete of the Year as a junior, has been named a W&L Scholar Athlete each term and is a three-time ITA Scholar Athlete. Long also serves as a teaching assistant for the organic chemistry lab at W&L and, most recently, was accepted into the Indiana University School of Medicine.
Lorenz has enjoyed another strong season on the court, as well, matching Long's 14 wins in singles to go along with a 13-8 record in doubles. Lorenz has been featured in the No. 2 and 3 positions in singles this season, going 5-4 at No. 2 and 5-0 at No. 3, while she and Long have produced a 6-3 doubles record together, all at No. 1.
In the classroom, Lorenz is a seven-time W&L Scholar Athlete, three-time ODAC All-Academic Team and three-time ITA Scholar Athlete student as an art history and English double-major. Lorenz was also selected to the CSC Academic All-District Team as a sophomore.
The 14th-ranked Generals won the 35th ODAC championship in program history this season and have since won both NCAA Tournament matches to reach the national quarterfinals in Chattanooga, Tenn. Their next match will be against No. 4 Wesleyan (Conn.) on Monday, May 18, at the Champions Tennis Club.
