Haddad Secures IWLCA Co-Defensive Player of the Week Honors

3/24/2026 3:12:00 PM

NORTHBOUROUGH, Mass. - Senior goalkeeper Iman Haddad of the sixth-ranked Washington and Lee University women's lacrosse team was named the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) Co-Defensive Player of the Week after leading the Generals to a pair of wins last week.

Haddad, a senior from Alexandria, Va., earned her second National Player of the Week honor of her career after a pair of impressive performances against Randolph-Macon and No. 7 Gettysburg. Haddad tallied 19 saves this past week, including a season-high 14 saves in the Blue and White's upset win over Gettysburg. She helped anchor a defensive unit that limited the Bullets' top attacker to just one goal on six shots on goal while delivering a crucial late-game moment, making three consecutive saves during a woman-down stand in the fourth quarter to help secure the 11-10 victory. She added five saves in the Generals' 13-9 win over Randolph-Macon to remain unbeaten in conference play.

Haddad shares the Division III honor with Christopher Newport's Brookelyn Morrison, who led the Captains to a pair of wins last week, including a 13-12 upset road win at No. 6 York (Pa.).

The sixth-ranked Generals are back in action on Saturday, Mar. 28, as they take on Virginia Wesleyan University at 3 p.m. on Watt Field for Senior Day.
