LYNCHBURG, Va. / LEXINGTON, Va. – The No. 19 Washington and Lee women's tennis team collected a pair of ODAC wins on Tuesday, shutting out both Lynchburg on the road and Roanoke at home.
HOW IT HAPPENED (AT LYNCHBURG – W, 7-0):
- The Generals began the day by winning all three doubles matches against the Hornets, dropping just four games total in the process. Senior Lauren Long and sophomore Sarah Donnelly continued their hot start to the season with a 6-0 win at No. 1.
- Sophomores Greer Webb and Mary Kate Kahl picked up a 6-1 win at No. 2 doubles, while sophomore Jackie Daynovsky and first-year Lulu Koziol rounded out the doubles lineup at No. 3 with a 6-3 victory.
- It was more of the same in singles play, as the Generals lost only four games total in the 12 sets played. Long (1), Donnelly (2), Koziol (5) and Daynovsky (6) all won their matches 6-0, 6-0.
- Webb and Kahl also remained active in singles play and surrendered only two games each. Webb won 6-0, 6-2 at No. 3 and Kahl was a 6-2, 6-0 victor at No. 4.
HOW IT HAPPENED (VS. ROANOKE – W, 7-0):
- W&L posted a clean sweep in the three doubles matches against the Maroons. Senior Grace Lorenz and sophomore Allie Murrell started at No. 1, first-years Margarette Berdy and Sarah Ladd were at No. 2 and senior Annie Jennings and junior Haley Stoltz covered No. 3.
- The Generals lost only four games in singles play and had two players post shutouts. Senior Jordan Kach (5) and Stoltz (6) were responsible for the singles sweeps.
- Lorenz and Berdy both won by 6-0, 6-1 scores at singles 1 and 2, respectively, with senior Riho Iijima and Jennings wrapping up the banner day for the Blue and White with 6-1, 6-0 wins apiece at Nos. 3 and 4, respectively.

The Generals will be off until next Wednesday, March 4, when they travel to Randolph-Macon for a 4:00 p.m. first serve.
