Women's Swimming Continues Championship Charge in Greensboro

GREENSBORO, N.C. —Washington and Lee holds the top spot in the team standings through three sessions of the 2026 ODAC Women's Swimming Championships, totaling 275 points to lead Lynchburg (197) at the Greensboro Aquatic Center.

The Generals captured three event titles and added multiple podium finishes Thursday, building separation in a tightly contested championship field.

Up Next: The ODAC Championships continue Friday, February 13, with Session 4 preliminaries beginning at 10:00 a.m. Events include the men's 400 IM, 100 butterfly, 200 freestyle, 100 breaststroke and 100 backstroke. Finals competition resumes at 6:00 p.m. with the 200 medley relays, followed by championship finals in the 400 IM, 100 butterfly, 200 freestyle, 100 breaststroke and 100 backstroke for both men and women.

200 Freestyle Relay (Event 4)

2nd – W&L (1:36.53)
Frances Fenton, Tenra Adams, Vivian Pickeral and Amelia Maloof combined for a runner-up finish to keep the Generals near the top of the team race.

500 Freestyle (Event 6)

1st – Celia Bredehoeft (5:06.61)
Bredehoeft delivered a championship swim to claim the ODAC title, while W&L added key scoring depth:

200 Individual Medley (Event 8)

The Generals placed three swimmers inside the top four to surge in the standings:

50 Freestyle (Event 10)

400 Medley Relay (Event 12)

1st – W&L (3:52.43)
Vivian Pickeral, Morgan Smith, Maria Jellig and Amelia Maloof closed the session with a relay victory, touching first in 3:52.43 to extend the Generals' advantage heading into Friday.

800 Freestyle Relay (Event 1 – Wednesday)

1st – W&L (7:43.84)
Gabby Clemens, Maria Jellig, Celia Bredehoeft and Marcy Mortimer opened the championships with a conference title, setting the tone for the meet.
