ROCHESTER, N.Y. - The second-ranked Washington and Lee University men's golf team is sitting in eighth place following the first round of the 2025 NCAA Division III National Championships on Tuesday at the Midvale Country Club.
The Blue and White are currently sitting in a tie for eighth place of 43 teams in the field after shooting 298 (+10) in the first round.
Despite a chilly start to the round, the Generals are eight shots back from the leader, Illinois Wesleyan University, who carded a 290 (+2). The Blue and White battled on the first nine, shooting eight-over par before bouncing back with a two-over par on the second nine. Firm conditions and quick greens proved to be challenging for the entire field as all 43 teams shot over par in the first round of action.
