No. 5 Men’s Golf Sits in Second Place at ODAC Championship

AMHERST, Va.  - The fifth-ranked Washington and Lee University men's golf is sitting in second place at the 2026 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Championship following the second round on Monday afternoon. Jonathan McEwen and Tim Kaufman will head into tomorrow's final round in first and second place, respectively. 

The Generals dropped one spot in today's round after shooting 25-over par to move into second place of ten teams with a score of 41-over par (304-313 - 617). 39th-ranked Guilford moved up three spots in the second round at 34-over par after shooting a round-best 11-over par this afternoon. Randolph-Macon moved up two spots to third place (+45) after shooting 18-over par today while No. 17 Lynchburg (+49) and No. 45 Hampden-Sydney (+53) both dropped two spots to round out the top-five.

The Generals shot four-over on the front nine this afternoon with eight birdies and 16 pars but shot 21-over par on the back with only two birdies while carding 20 pars.

INDIVIDUAL HIGHLIGHTS
  • No. 1-ranked Jonathan McEwen moved up two spots into solo first place with a score of three-over par. After a one-over performance in round one, McEwen carded a 74 (+2) in the second round. He opened the day with a birdie on hole one and added another on hole four, along with six pars, to shoot one-under on the front nine. After a bogey on the 10th hole, he recorded three straight pars before adding a birdie on hole 14. He closed the round with two more pars to finish three-over on the back nine.
  • Ninth-ranked Tim Kaufman moved up three spots into a tie for second place with Gavin Peach (Guilford) at six-over par. Kaufman followed his opening-round 74 (+2) with a 76 (+4). After a bogey on the first hole, he caught fire with four birdies in a five-hole stretch, including three straight from holes four through six. He added a par and two bogeys over the final three holes of the front nine to shoot 35 (-1). On the back nine, he carded six pars and finished at five-over (41).
  • Charlie Krasnewich fell six spots into a tie for 15th place at 12-over par. After opening with a 74 (+2), he shot a four-over round on day two. He posted three-over on the front nine with a birdie on hole two and four pars, then added another birdie on hole 14 with four pars on the back nine to shoot five-over.
  • William Hull dropped 12 spots into a tie for 40th place at 20-over par. Following a nine-over opening round, Hull carded an 11-over round two. He recorded four pars and a birdie on hole eight to shoot three-over on the front nine before finishing eight-over on the back with five pars, including three straight from holes 14 through 16.
  • Turner Edwards dropped nine spots to 49th place at 26-over par. After shooting 12-over in round one, Edwards posted a 14-over round on day two. He recorded a pair of birdies in a three-hole stretch on the front nine along with one par to shoot six-over, then added three pars on the back nine to finish eight-over.
