GREENWOOD, Ind. - Junior Jonathan McEwen of Washington and Lee University's men's golf team has been named a College Sports Communicators (CSC) Division III Men's At-Large First-Team Academic All-America® selection
, the organization announced on Tuesday afternoon.
McEwen earned his second-straight All-America nod after being named a Second Team selection in 2025. He became the third General in program history to earn multiple Academic All-America citations, joining Brian Peccie '20 and Luke Farley '18. He also joins Peccie as one of two First Team selections in program history.
The Portsmouth, Va. native had another impressive season with the Blue and White, maintaining the No. 1 ranking the entire year. McEwen recorded six top-three finishes and three wins in nine events played. He continued to rewrite the W&L individual record books as he broke his own 54-hole scoring record twice, the 72-hole scoring record, and the individual low-round record.
For the second straight year, McEwen led the country in adjusted scoring average, bettering his mark from 68.5 to 68.3, and played 22 of the team's 28 rounds at par or better.
McEwen repeated as the individual champion at the 2026 ODAC Championships, posting a score of four-over par (220). At the NCAA Championship in Howey-in-the-Hills, Fla., he helped lead the Blue and White to a sixth-place finish—the program's fifth consecutive top-ten showing—finishing as the national runner-up individually by shooting nine-under-par (278).
He added multiple accolades to his resume this season, earning his second straight recognition as the NCAA Division III Jack Nicklaus National Player of the Year. He is one of only 11 golfers to have earned the prestigious award multiple times. He was also named the ODAC Golfer of the Year, First Team All-ODAC, ODAC/Virginia Farm Bureau Insurance Scholar-Athlete of the Year, PING All-Region IV, and a PING First Team All-American for the third consecutive year. McEwen also represented Team USA at the 2026 Arnold Palmer Cup in West Barrow, Ireland on July 3-5.
