LEXINGTON, Va. – The ninth-ranked Washington and Lee women's lacrosse team delivered a dominant performance on Saturday afternoon at Watt Field, defeating Averett University, 25-0, to close out a perfect 10-0 record in ODAC play during the regular season.
The win secured W&L's 11th consecutive undefeated ODAC regular season in program history, as the Generals (13-4, 10-0) recorded their fourth shutout of the 2025 campaign while limiting the Cougars (4-6, 3-6) to just two total shots.
Game Summary
W&L opened the game with a flurry, scoring 11 goals in the first quarter and building a 17-0 lead by halftime. The Generals continued to dominate after the break, adding four goals in each of the final two quarters while completely stifling Averett's offense.
The W&L defense forced 22 turnovers and allowed just one shot on goal, while 14 different Generals scored at least once.
Individual Performance
- Grace Kim and Hannah Van Son led the Generals with three goals apiece, with Kim scoring twice on free-position attempts and adding an assist.
- Reedie Warwick, Kelly Polacek, Caroline Foster, Lara Baki, Payton Haley, and Claire Horner all scored two goals each.
- Polacek, Sophie Edwards, and Ella Buckley each dished out two assists, while Katie Reed, Nora Hamilton, Lara Baki, and Warwick chipped in one apiece.
- Emma Marsh led W&L with seven draw controls, and Cat Caples added three draw controls and two caused turnovers.
- Iman Haddad and Gabbi Bici combined for the shutout in goal, with Bici making the lone save.
