PINEHURST, N.C. – The top-ranked Washington and Lee University men's golf wrapped up play at the Tiger Invitational on Monday, finishing the tournament in 11th place with a team card of 296-300--596 (+20).
Sophomore Jonathan McEwen paced the Blue and White, finishing tied for third place, four strokes under par with rounds of 69 and 71. This marks the fifth tournament of the year where the standout has finished better than par and his fourth top-5 finish of his 2024-25 campaign.
Second-ranked Methodist claimed the team title with a final score of 567, nine strokes under par and was the only team to finish par or better in the 20-team tournament.
Methodist's Chase Walts finished with a 66-68--134 scorecard and posted the lowest scores on each day for 10 strokes under par to win the individual title.

- The Tiger Invitational marks the only rounds and tournament the Generals have finished over par in 14 rounds (5 tournaments) during the 2024-25 season.
- W&L has not finished outside of the top-5 in team scoring all season, prior to the Tiger Invitational, the lowest team position was 4th at the Flower City Preview over September 22-23.
Individual Highlights
- Sophomore Jonathan McEwen maintained his third place position with another round under par. The sophomore excelled on par 4s, finishing five strokes under, second best in the 100-player field. He totaled nine birdies, tied for second most in the tournament with five others.
- First-year Timothy Kaufman jumped 12 positions over the second round and finished 21st overall with a card of 75-71--146 (+2). His back nine holes were his best carding four of his six birdies on the back.
- Senior Elias Malakoff finished 61st, 10 strokes over par and jumped one position over the day. Malakoff played par on the front nine but four holes gave him trouble on the back to finish four strokes over.
- First-year Charlie Krasnewich placed 69th and finished 12 strokes over par.
- Senior Will Braxton carded six birdies over the two days and finished with a 163 total.
