LEXINGTON, Va. – The seventh-ranked Washington and Lee women's lacrosse team delivered a commanding performance in a 25-0 victory over Guilford College on Tuesday afternoon at Watt Field.
The Generals (1-1, 1-0 ODAC) wasted no time asserting their dominance, scoring 10 goals in the opening quarter and never looking back. Senior
Sophie Edwards led the attack with four goals and an assist, while
Brianna Benoit,
Grace Kim, and
Payton Haley each netted hat tricks.
Kelly Polacek added two goals and a team-high two assists.
W&L controlled possession throughout the game, winning 20 draw controls to Guilford's (1-1, 0-1 ODAC) five and outshooting the Quakers 34-0. The Generals' defensive pressure was stifling, forcing 16 turnovers and holding Guilford without a single shot on goal.

Hannah Van Son, and Polacek each contributed two goals, while seven other Generals found the back of the net. The defense, anchored by goalkeeper
Gabbi Bici, did not face a single shot, recording the shutout.
