Women’s Swimming Claims 34th ODAC Trophy in Program History

GREENSBORO, N.C. - The Washington and Lee University women's swimming team displayed a dominant four-day performance to lift their 34th overall and fourth straight Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Trophy on Saturday evening at the Greensboro Aqautic Center.

HIGHLIGHTS FROM THE MEET
  • The Blue and White tallied an impressive 908.5 points over the four-day meet, recording top finishes in 14 events to secure their 34th overall conference title.
  • Following the meet's conclusion, Celia Bredehoeft was named ODAC Rookie of the Meet after earning two individual titles in her championship debut. Bella Tarbet was recognized as ODAC Swimmer of the Meet, claiming three individual event wins and contributing to four championship relay teams.
  • Bredehoeft opened the final day's session with a victory in the 1,650 freestyle, clocking a time of 17:29.06—the second-fastest mark in program history. Katelyn Crawford placed fourth in the event with a time of 17:54.16.
  • Maria Jellig secured her third individual title of the weekend, winning the 200 backstroke with a time of 2:03.83, the fifth-fastest in school history. Vivian Pickeral finished fourth, touching the wall in 2:06.91.
  • Myla Rice led the Blue and White in the 100 freestyle, finishing fifth with a time of 53.12. Tenra Adams (53.18) and Amelia Maloof (53.89) followed closely in sixth and seventh, respectively.
  • In the 200 breaststroke, the Generals placed three swimmers in the top five. Morgan Smith claimed the title with a time of 2:22.17—the second-fastest in program history. Paige McBoyle finished as the runner-up with a time of 2:23.65, while Marcy Mortimer placed fourth in 2:26.06, the ninth-fastest time in school history.
  • Tarbet capped off her stellar championship performance by winning the 200 butterfly, posting an NCAA B-cut time of 2:04.95 to claim her third individual title. Haley Robinson secured second place with a time of 2:08.57, the ninth-fastest mark in program history. Peighton Kruzel (2:11.99), Camlyn Bella (2:12.49), and Riley Moorman (2:13.68) finished fifth, sixth, and seventh, respectively.
  • The Generals closed out the meet in dominant fashion, as Tarbet, Adams, Mortimer, and Rice teamed up to win the 400 freestyle relay. The squad clocked a time of 3:30.57, completing a sweep of all five relay titles over the weekend.
