Women’s Swimming Posts Three Wins, Increases Lead at ODAC Championships

GREENSBORO, N.C. - The Washington and Lee University women's swimming team posted three wins on the third day of the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Championships while securing 17 top-eight finishes.

HIGHLIGHTS FROM THE MEET
  • The Generals extended their lead to 260.5 points after three days of competition, bringing their team total to 610.5 points.
  • Vivian Pickeral, Clara Attar, Bella Tarbet, and Amelia Maloof opened the finals session with a victory in the 200 medley relay, clocking a winning time of 1:46.82.
  • Maria Jellig completed a sweep of the individual medley events, claiming gold in the 400 IM with a time of 4:30.91—the third-fastest mark in program history. Marcy Mortimer followed closely, securing second place in 4:34.54, the sixth-fastest time in school history. Celia Bredehoeft rounded out the podium sweep for the Generals, finishing third in 4:37.05, while Katelyn Crawford placed seventh with a time of 4:40.87.
  • Bella Tarbet captured her second individual title of the weekend, winning the 100 butterfly in 56.06. Haley Robinson finished third with a time of 57.33, the eighth-fastest mark in program history. Peighton Kruzel secured fourth place in 57.62, the tenth-fastest time in school history.
  • In the 200 freestyle, Riley Moorman led the Generals with a third-place finish, touching the wall in 1:56.90. Tenra Adams followed in fourth with a time of 1:57.27, while Schuyler Ross placed fifth in 1:57.62. Faith Sconing rounded out the team's performance in the event, finishing seventh with a time of 1:58.67.
  • The Blue and White placed three swimmers in the 100 breaststroke finals. Morgan Smith led the way with a second-place finish in 1:06.21. Clara Attar finished fifth with a time of 1:06.71, the tenth-fastest in program history, while Paige McBoyle placed seventh in 1:06.81.
  • Vivian Pickeral and Myla Rice represented the Generals in the 100 backstroke finals. Pickeral claimed second place with a time of 58.31, while Rice finished sixth in 1:00.15.

  • The final day of the conference meet will feature the preliminary heats of the 1,650 freestyle, 200 backstroke, 200 butterfly and 100 freestyle at 10 a.m. on Saturday morning.
