HAMPTON, Va. — The Washington and Lee University women's swimming team completed the first day of competition at the Randolph-Macon Yellow Jacket Invitational on Friday evening, sitting in second place with 317 team points at the Hampton Aquaplex.
Salisbury leads the team standings with 407.5 points, followed by W&L, Catholic (185), Randolph-Macon (149), St. Mary's (Md.) (105.5), Virginia Wesleyan (93), Randolph (38), and Sweet Briar (18).
The Generals posted several standout performances in the opening finals session, including two event victories.
Maria Jellig and
Amelia Maloof led the way with individual wins in the 200-yard individual medley and 50-yard freestyle, respectively, while both W&L relay teams earned podium finishes.
