RUSTBURG, Va. - The Washington and Lee University equestrian team opened its 2025 season with a strong fourth-place finish at the Lynchburg IHSA on Saturday. The Generals totaled 31 points, led by ten top-three individual performances.
W&L showcased balance across all levels and scored in all classes with riders competing for the Blue and White. Saturday's results were highlighted by class wins from Samantha Borurque, Lydia Bowersox and Brooke Capuzzi.
The University of Lynchburg earned the team win with 45 points, followed by Hollins (36) and Virginia Tech (35). The riding squad will return to the Rustburg riding ring tomorrow, Sunday, October 5.
