LEXINGTON, Va. – The Intercollegiate Horse Shows Association (IHSA) recently announced its 2025-26 All-Academic award recipients and the Washington and Lee Equestrian team had 20 riders honored.
A total of 15 Generals secured first-team recognition for posting a grade-point average of 3.80 or higher during the fall semester. Those honorees included Tytus Boston, Samantha Bourque, Lydia Bowersox, Iona Campbell, Brooke Capuzzi, Jade Condrell, Sophie Csatlos, Lela Ganske, Kate Hammer, Ella Hudson, Elisabeth Marek, Kate Martin, Henry McClure, Kaycie Miranda and Ryon Sinclair.
Five additional riders earned second-team honors for achieving a GPA between 3.50 and 3.79. Those recipients included Graham Absolom, Eva Lunn, Elli Pope, Grace Steinberg and Irene Tsengas.
Nominees for the IHSA All-Academic teams must be full-time undergraduate students or alumni riders who are paid members of the IHSA and USHJA and who competed in at least one regular season IHSA horse show during the academic year. First-team honorees must achieve a fall semester GPA of at least 3.80, while second-team recipients must post a GPA between 3.50 and 3.79.
The Generals enjoyed another strong season in regional competition, posting two team victories and five additional top-three finishes across IHSA competition during the 2025-26 campaign. Washington and Lee claimed team titles at the Hollins University IHSA show on February 21 and the Virginia Tech Winter Blues IHSA event on February 28.
Academically, seniors Jade Condrell and Kate Martin, along with underclassmen Brooke Capuzzi and Sophie Csatlos, each posted perfect 4.0 grade-point averages during both the fall and winter semesters while completing at least 23 credit hours during the academic year.
The Generals return to the saddle in the fall of 2026, with the IHSA schedule expected to be announced in the coming months.
