ASBURY, N.J. — Washington and Lee alumni Zoe Cass '23 and Allison Hines '25 helped capture the Alumni Tournament of Champions Team Challenge Perpetual Award and posted a number of top individual finishes at the 2026 Alumni Tournament of Champions and Alumni Equestrian Events (AEE) National Finals.
Former Generals Equestrian standouts represented the Blue and White well with stong individual performances as well, highlighted by a pair of blue ribbons from Cass and a third-place finish from Hines in the Alumni Cup. Cass earned national titles in both the AEE Athletic Equestrian Hunt Seat Equitation on the Flat and AEE Hunter Seat Fences classes.
The Alumni Cup follows the multi-phase format of the IHSA's Cacchione Cup, beginning with an over-fences phase, followed by a flat phase and a final work-off among the top riders. Both Generals advanced to the final phase following strong performances in the opening rounds.
Their consistency throughout the competition was rewarded in the team standings, where they joined fellow IHSA Zone 4 Region 2 alumna Lindsey Bihuniak (Virginia). The Commonwealth's trio accumulated 328 points to win the Alumni Tournament of Champions Team Challenge Perpetual Award, topping a field of more than 10 teams. Cass was also recognized with the event's Style Award.
