LEXINGTON, Va. — The Washington and Lee University women's swimming team has earned a national ranking to open the 2025-26 season, coming in at No. 25 in the first College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Division III Top 25 Dual Meet Poll, released Friday.

The Generals (1–0) join an elite group of programs from across the country recognized among the nation's best dual meet teams. W&L is the only program from the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) represented in the initial rankings.

The poll, determined by a committee of Division III coaches, evaluates dual meet programs based on head-to-head results, early-season performances, roster depth, and data from the SwimCloud Simulator. The rankings focus on overall dual meet strength rather than projected finishes at the NCAA Championships.

New York University leads the women's poll with 366 points, followed by Denison (352), Emory (350), MIT (340), and Kenyon (315) rounding out the top five. Washington and Lee earned nine points to secure the No. 25 position.

The Blue and White opened their season earlier this month with a home dual meet victory over Mary Washington, highlighted by eight event wins and strong depth across the lineup.
