Men’s Track and Field Wraps up Day One of Finn Pincus Invite

SALEM, Va. - The Washington and Lee University men's track and field team wrapped up the first day of the Finn Pincus Invite at Ronaoke College with three top eight finishers. 

HIGHLIGHTS FROM THE MEET
  • Mitchell DiMond, Javan Hirwa, Jaden Brighter and Sam Daunt highlighted the trio of top-eight finishers as they clocked in the third fastest time in the distance medley relay, crossing the finish line in 10:40.28. 
  • First-year Raja Mehendale shined in his debut on the track for the Blue and White, clocking in the fourth-fastest time in the 3,000m run. Mehendale crossed the finish line in 9:06.00, the fastest time for a Division III runner in the event.
  • Senior George Marable is one of two Division III runners to move on to the 60m hurdles finals tomorrow afternoon. Marable clocked in the eighth-fastest time in the field, crossing the finish line in 8.73s.

  • The Blue and White will compete in the second day of the Finn Pincus Invite tomorrow with the action starting at 10 a.m. with the Long Jump. The mile run will kick off the track events at 11 a.m.
